BTW, Shari, I like WACO's run game. Highland can throw the ball well so they always have a chance.
Yeah, tired of the "Shock the world" nonsense.
Interestingly, that was the Washington poster last season. See it at Cork 'N' Fork occasionally
Yes, Craig, they do. 1A-6 is superior to 1A-5 (so now we'll hear the disrespect card from 1A-5 folks) :)
Craig, I think West Branch definitely has a shot at Maquoketa Valley. Tho the E-B loss really surprised me.
I was very surprised by EBF win over WB. EBF has two impressive wins. They are a good rushing team. Hard to say about WB/Maq Valley. I'd never count out Butch Pedersen's teams.
EBF must be legitimately good. KJ saw them. Thoughts?
Speaking of the disrespect card ...
I'm going to project Cascade as the 2nd place team and playing Hampton-Dumont at home.
Second thought, make that Union.
One right, Seth. Back then West was in the midst of a 36-game losing streak. Didn't play City High, because it was the first season for a 14-team MVC and were in opposite divisions and not part of the crossovers. CRJ, CRK and LM
Xavier has always been a whole-is-greater-than-the-sum-of-its parts outfit. And that's admirable.
Yes. That's predetermined.
That's affirmative, Colton.
That is a good question, Mike. My guess is they are strong based on the collective unit. Not to mention, they have had a couple UNI players, and technically that is D-I. I know what you mean though, Mike.
I think Lisbon wins ... not sure about rolls. I don't think it gets to a continuous clock. I'd say 2-3 TDs.
LisbonLions, I asked that (kind of) of Scott Unash earlier today. I think they will win. I won't say roll, but could. I'm not sure they beat BGM in the postseason when they cross paths.
Trouble is, A-6 is a TOUGH district. Even fourth-place qualifier (Lynnville-Sully) is quality.
CCA must not have been horrible last week.
I think two 4A West teams have a shot at getting in with 2-7 marks. Mason City and SC West are both 2-6 and are in fourth in their districts. They both face likely losses this week.
I would really like each class to go to 24 qualifiers. Reward the district champs with first-round byes.
winner winner chicken dinner
By the way, talked to City High Coach Dan Sabers tonight. Without prompting, he offered that he has heard 4A district football might be coming to Eastern Iowa next season. What a colossal mistake that would be. Apparently this is MAC driven.
I think Monticello and the 4th-place team from that district are going to be very hard-pressed to get out of the first round. Will have to play New Hampton and Waukon on the road.
I don't think so, LisbonLions. Lynnville-Sully is decent (Underachieved a little due to a slow start) but I think Lisbon is better.
I think they're a long way apart.
