Geesh, I forgot about Brendan Miller. Remember when some thought Xavier was sunk last year without Stovie, JJ? Won't say what expert thought that, but he stepped in and has been good.
I thought WSR was going to have a very good season after a disappointing close loss to Decorah early in the season. I think there is enough talent to win this one. I haven't been on the Boone bandwagon this year either.
Calling it now. Upset special for WSR. If they can slow down Alex Davis of Boone, they can win.
I think Jacobus is athletic, but I haven't seen enough of passing game damage to show that will be a factor. When they run as well as they do, not sure you need a lot from the pass.
hahahahahahahahahahaha Nanooks of the North hahahahahahahahahahaha
Exactly, Pilchy. Jacobus can makes plays with his feet, but Kennedy's passing game has not developed. Cover up Heitland is about all you need to do.
Quite a run the Nanooks have had! 23 in a row, looking for 3 straight trips to state finals. Not bad for folks who live in no-man's land. Haha!
They came loaded tonight. We don't have Lindy to help either.
I'd go with Jack Kline (if we are considering BGM Eastern Iowa). If not, Elias Nissen.
Who are you picking tomorrow night at Kingston, Bob?
Lisbon. Montezuma, I think, has had issue with injury. A few weeks ago it seemed like it would be a marquee matchup. Now, I think it's all Lisbon for 8th straight win.
I think Monte has lost its top rusher, which obviously has hurt.
Anyone else want to weigh in on the top RB in the area or player of the year?
No, they are at home fields. Semifinals and finals are in the Dome.
Another smaller-school kid who has had a great season is Ryan Parmely at Maquoketa Valley. 2,000 yards rushing and over 100 tackles.
I think they beat Marion in the first round and lose to Solon in the second round.
Washpun is REALLY good, Ryan. You are exactly right.
City High is going to have to bring it a lot more than it did against Kennedy last Friday, though.
West needs to be stingier defensively against the run. I think Hempstead can play with the Trojans tomorrow night.
I think West will get to the QF. I think they need to play consistent and discipline. Play better defense.
I think Webster City and Grinnell is a sneaky good matchup. I think Grinnell might be better than the average 6-3 team.
Boone-Waverly, C'mon man? Just off top of my head. Some really good ones on other side of state. Webster City-Grinnell among them.
Weather is going to be huge, Ajgordn. If it's rainy, Grinnell's in trouble.
I guess we'll see, but they are 8-1, scoring 27 or more in more than half its games
We talked about Miller-Moa-Christensen a little earlier. Just looked at their stats. They finished within 14 yards rushing of each other. Amazing.
It's hard to really say about Jefferson. I only saw them in the opener against Prairie. I think they seemed to be in a few more games this season
