Welcome to Iowa Prep Sports' playoff preview live chat! K.J. Pilcher and Jeff Johnson will log in around 8:00 to take your questions about the postseason. Leave them now if you'd like!
A lot of rushes and lots of defense. I think it certainly can go either way. Kennedy was impressive against City High. Prairie played well the last half of the season. I think Prairie might make it through. I know Lindy likes CRK.
I like Kennedy to beat Prairie, Ben. And IowaFootball, this is a GREAT event for our town. The fact that Xavier is at home, too, means a lot of football in C.R. tomorrow night.
I will say state wrestling. :) I wish I was going to be at Kingston tomorrow. That will be awesome!
EBF has surprised the heck out of him with some of their late regular season wins, including thumping Sigourney-Keota. One SK wish it could get back. Not saying EBF will win but if one district can pull a sweep I think it could be 1A D6. That's not a knock on 1A 5 because all 8 qualifiers are good.
I do know it's way too far to travel for a football game on weeknight
Someone said Linn-Mar was halfway point and good site for neutral site. I'd agree but Clayton Ridge did earn right to host with their district finish.
Some luck, but you make your own luck in sports. Washington has earned their wins. I think this is a different CRW team that let a win slip away in UNI-Dome. I think CRW wins.
I don't but some think a healthy Waterloo West (young and Dunn) can challenge PV, if they can get the lead and let them run wild.
I really think Waterloo West can play with Pleasant Valley, scribbler. But I think all 4 will move on.
I'm picking CF, Bob, just because of the playoff experience factor. But Washington winning wouldn't surprise anyone, either.
I think it happens. Not sure anyone will keep it close with Sville or DB until they face each other.
I think being at Kingston helps CRW. Plus, Warriors are 1-0 in early kickoff games. :)
I'm not willing to give a score on EBF and Clayton Ridge. I will say Clayton Ridge in a close game.
I have Springville reaching the state finals in my picks. Our prep staff made picks at www.iowaprepsports.com They include a shocker pick from me.
This just in. Eddyville-Blakesburg began their journey to Guttenberg at approximately 4 p.m. today and are about halfway there. LOL.
I think the Cards will eke out a win over Crestwood, Nightowl.
Crestwood might be a tougher test than some think. Maq with a close win
I think NFV reaches the QF but lose to Dike-New Hartford
Got 'em winning first 2 games, Spencer, then losing to Dike. Were you at the game last Friday night?
Wow, Bob. Good question. Really like Miles Moa at Kennedy. He's had a great season. Really like Brendan Miller at Xavier, too. Both relatively undersized, but very quick at hitting holes. Mitch Christensen at Prairie a notch below them in my opinion. Am I forgetting anyone?
I think there are a couple darn good ones in Iowa City. Dixon and Washpun have to be considered. MV's Parmely is a good one numbers-wise. Miles Moa showed he can run with the best of him. Prairie's Christensen has carried the load for Prairie. Weymiller is good. There are some very good ones.
